Meet Henry Heaton, MD


Henry Heaton, MD, FAAD, FACMS is an experienced Mohs Micrographic Surgeon and cutaneous oncologist with expertise in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer. Dr. Heaton has treated thousands of skin cancers and has completed the most advanced training in this unique surgical procedure. Mohs micrographic surgery is widely accepted as the most effective treatment for most types of skin cancer.

After finishing a residency in Dermatology at Yale and serving as Chief Resident, Dr. Heaton was selected for the highest level of training in Mohs Surgery, an American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) fellowship in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology. During this fellowship, Dr. Heaton trained under the direction of a world-renowned cutaneous oncologist and reconstructive surgeon. He refined his skills in the surgical removal of cancerous tissue and interpretation of tissue samples, and developed a talent for facial reconstructive surgery.

He has published and lectured on many topics related to skin cancer including Merkel Cell Carcinoma, superficial radiation in the treatment of skin cancer, topical chemotherapy in the management of skin cancer, and on the impact of skin cancer in women.

Dr. Henry Heaton is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Fellow of the American College of Mohs surgery, and a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
