The Restylane® Difference
It’s easy to look at dermal fillers as common beauty treatments, one being very similar to the next – and the next, and the next. There are differences between products, though, and Restylane is a prime example of a high-standard of manufacturing. This biodegradable filler is not new. In fact, it is one of the most widely-tested hyaluronic acid fillers to be developed. The first product in this family emerged more than 20 years ago. Since that time, additional products have been added to improve capabilities as well as the outcome.
The difference between Restylane and other hyaluronic acid dermal fillers is not necessarily that this product lasts longer; most dermal fillers have a range of anywhere from 4 months to 2 years. What makes Restylane special is the way this product line helps us customize treatments to each patient. For example:
- Cheek augmentation may involve the use of Restylane Lyft, which has thicker consistency and larger hyaluronic acid particles for more volume and longer lasting results.
- Lip augmentation is a delicate matter that requires a soft, smooth filler. Restylane Silk is formulated specifically for use in the lips and fine lines around the mouth.
- Fillers around the nose and mouth, as well as the frown lines, should be fluid, moveable. Otherwise, there is a potential for losing a bit of the natural movement in facial expression. Restylane now has two products, Refyne and Defyne, which have been made to accommodate this need.
